B'YNOTE'

Founder & Lead Pastor, NUNAZION Church

Butler B’ynote’ III is a pastor, author, speaker, educator, coach, and former professional football player. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Butler brings his experience in ministry, athletics, education, and media to a shared purpose: helping people discover who they are in Christ and live with purpose.

Butler attended The Ohio State University on an athletic scholarship, graduating with a double major in Economics and African American Studies while competing on the football and track teams. His professional football career included time with the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers of the NFL, the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe, and the Orlando Predators and Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League.

While pursuing his athletic career, Butler recognized a deeper calling to ministry. In October 2002, he formally answered that call by preaching his first sermon. His vision was clear: reach today’s generation through the Word of God and create a worship experience that connects biblical truth with everyday life. He later served as a chaplain for The Ohio State University football team from 2012 to 2015.

Butler is the author of God’s Word For Athletes. Through his writing and Monday Manna devotionals, he shares biblical encouragement that helps people put their faith into practice.

Today, Butler serves as the founder and lead pastor of NUNAZION Church alongside his wife, Tanya. Together, they are building a community committed to helping people experience transformation through Jesus—restored in relationship with God, renewed in identity, equipped for purpose, and empowered to impact their city.

His passion for developing people also shapes his work as an Upper School Dean of Students and high school football coach. Whether preaching, mentoring students, or coaching athletes, Butler seeks to help people move from hearing truth to living it.

Butler and Tanya make their home in St. Louis. Butler is the proud father of Braxton Kohl, Butler IV, and Bri Cy’Nya.
